The topic selected for the research is ‘Doping in Sports’. Doping refers to the use of prohibited, medicines, drugs, or special treatments by sportspersons that help them to accelerate performance that is not normally possible (Woods, 2016). The practice of doping is forbidden in the world of sports because it impacts the performance of the player and gives them the opportunity to fare better than others which cannot be done in normal circumstances. Sports history shows that doping has dated back centuries, but the issue is more significant than in the modern age because of the prevalence of more advanced performance-enhancing drugs that induces great performance for players. After innumerable cases of doping, many of which were practiced by even famous and appreciated sportspersons, doping is something that is strictly regulated in the present years, especially in the twenty-first century. The thesis statement for this research is, ‘Players indulge in doping mainly due to moral issues’.
